Assessment of Runway Surface Conditions by British Pendulum Testing under the Global Reporting Format Winter Conditions

چکیده

Poor braking performance on runways during winter is one of the most significant factors causing runway excursions. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) proposed a standardized method, named Global Reporting Format (GRF), to establish surface conditions based human observers. GRF includes description conditions. This work aimed at reproducing in laboratory, and monitor effect conditions, both without treatment with using liquid de-icing products (RDP) anti-icing modes, British Pendulum Tester (BPT). reproduction was possible laboratory since BPT results correlated well ratings. worst retained snow ice. Wet obtained water RDPs (potassium formate KFO, potassium acetate KAC hybrid glycol-KAC HYB) behave similarly, indicating that alone for prevention are not any more dangerous than just water. range from wet dry, equivalent Number (BPN) ~40 ~50, considered as good runway. All tested study improved BPN untreated In values favorable KFO reacted almost same way each condition. However, HYB better demonstrated simulated could be used determine efficiency modes.

Evaluation of the Dry Matter Remobilization to Seeds in Winter Rapeseed Cultivars under Drought Stress Conditions

In order to evaluate dry matter remobilization to seeds in the winter type rapeseed cultivars grown under drought stress conditions, an experiment was carried out using a randomized complete block design arranged in a split plot with three replicates in Shahre-Qods, Iran, in the 2011-2012 growing season. Irrigation treatments including control (irrigation after 80 mm evaporation from evaporatio...

SrTiO3(001) surface structures under oxidizing conditions

The thermodynamically stable (2 1), c(4 2) and c(6 2) surface structures were obtained under oxidative conditions on the SrTiO3(0 0 1) surface and studied with transmission electron microscopy. All three reconstructed surfaces exhibit similar morphological features––formation of flat h100i facets on the surface, stabilization of h110i originally polar facets as well as the existence of surface ...

The effect of surface rock fragments deployment pattern on soil erosion processes under simulated conditions

Extended abstract 1- Introduction The Soil surface characteristics have significant effects on the erosion process. The wide areas of watershed soil surfaces are covered with considerable amounts of rocks and pebbles. Surface rock fragments, resulting in water connectivity, change during the erosion process. Rock fragments on the soil surface may increase the infiltration and reduce soil loss...
